Welcome to Virtual Mayor!
Studies have shown that there are enough great ideas around the world to reverse 3 climate change crises, and that the good news is that we only have one crisis. This means that if we join together and collaborate, we can accomplish anything.
My name is Diane Devenyi. As a lifelong resident of Toronto I have learned that with the right action Toronto can contribute in a positive way to all life on the planet. Not only do we have the potential to create a city of happy and fulfilled people of all ages and cultures, we can demonstrate to the world how people can co-create a thriving environment that is both diverse and united. Together, we are a genius.
Imagine what will happen when we connect our genius with the genius of other people in cities, towns and villages around the world who also have great ideas for environmental sustainability, social justice and personal fulfillment. I have been joined by a team that shares a dream for the world that requires engagement from every person. It is a vision that must be shaped by the hearts, minds and bodies of all of the people, not a select few.
It is time to speak the truth about where we are now and seek to bring balance in every way we can. Once we are clear about where we are, we can bring balance by establishing foundational principles–we all know the importance of solid footings when we build structures–to co-create a vision for living in freedom, joy and growth. Let’s apply our collective wisdom as we build our world of endless possibilities.
In this blog I have two streams going:
- The Education Plan, which shares my vision for global education, both in schools and beyond. I introduce Fearless Mastery as the lifelong learning practice for every one of us, and the programs within which Fearless Mastery can be practiced: For schools (from elementary to post-secondary) there is The First Five Days; businesses, governments, community groups and individuals can participate in Alphabetter and REAlity Check Workshops. - The new GTA, which shares visions I have for creating communities that are environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling. I start from my personal experience of living in Toronto, Canada and apply principles that can benefit every community. Please view the posts and add your comments. The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.
The interaction of these two themes is the inspiration behind Virtual Mayor. As we improve our ability to thrive in the 21st century and carefully consider the principles within which we choose to live, we can consciously co-create a world that sustains us in every way. Each one of us can be a Virtual Mayor of at least one idea and know through experience that we all matter, and have everything we need to live spectacular lives together.
I invite you to join in as a Virtual Mayor, debate, offer alternatives. Please use my words to spark your imagination and optimism so that the world can open its eyes to its incredible potential.
What makes every place in the world great are the people who live, work and visit there. Let’s remember that as we try something a little different; let’s focus on what feels good and build from there.
The time has come for us all to be in charge for a change.
